The Bernard Small Barrel S.M.V. gets a great review from Meridith May!

Meridith May has reviewed the Bellingham 2011 The Bernard Series Small Barrel S.M.V. with a final score of 92 points that will appear in The Tasting Panel magazine early next month.  Her review is as follows:

Bellingham 2011 The Bernard Series Small Barrel S.M.V, Paarl, South Africa ($35)

Lavender creaminess reveals the mystery behind this curtain of satin. A bright light of acidity, savoury herbs like basil and oregano – and a dot of spice- nab the tongue with a deft jab.  The intense blackberry and the tart violet are ever-present but not center stage. This blend of 75% Syrah, 22% Mourvèdre and 3% Viognier from maverick winemaker Bernard Podlashuk is a modern, edgy red. 92”
